Here are some quick live doodles (with some details added afterwards) of the awesome dancers from @jamilatdancers

I went to a local coffee-bar near my house, and there was a belly dance presentation, so I decided to have a glass of wine and try to draw the awesome dancers as they were moving on the stage.
It was a very interesting and challenging experience, because, obviously the girls were not pausing for me to draw them, so I tried to follow them with my eyes and try to capture one moment to represent with a few lines, and then add some details.
I am amazed by the amount of decisions my brain has to make while I am drawing a moving a person, what a beautiful and powerful computer.
While I was drawing I thought of two ways to approach the excercise:
One way was to draw a lot of fluid lines trying to follow the dancer´ s movement, and having a quite messy drawing at the end.
And the other way was to make a froze in my mind a mental image of the girl, then draw it, then observe a little more, and add some details.
After two drawings using the first way, I decided to dive into the second way.
And the result are the images at the beginning of this post, which I like a lot.
I am very happy with the result, and I definitely want to repeat the experience with belly dancers, with capoeira practitioners and with boxers.
Thanks for reading, see you soon.
